Hobbies

I was an engineer in the
Army. I like to spend my time either constructing or working with my hands in
general. Working on things like my home lab is where I like to spend quite a
bit of time. I like trying to repurpose technology to fit a need. The server this
website is hosted on is on an old laptop running windows server alongside a VM
of Ubuntu server.

Why a laptop? Easy it's a server with a built-in
battery backup. I had a Lenovo think server running DDR3 Ram with an Intel Xeon
processor.  When I graduated with my AS in Computer Applications I decided
to upgrade my laptop which led to having an extra whole machine to play with.
With an i5 processor and DDR4, I decided to see what I could get out of it.
Obviously, this server isn't meant for large loads or even heavy traffic. With
raspberry pi's running business-level applications I thought that software and
hardware are more optimized to test out the limits of something like an old
laptop.
